I just had my private accent class.
Here are the words I practiced to say differently.
Can you read the words?
1) kuhoo AH puh REHEE ddihng 2) nuh TAE lee uh/ nuh TAH lee uh 3) thuhooz 4) uhn uh PAH luh GEH ddihkMy homework for this week is to do the self-corection practice with these. We don't work only on my accent. We change the perception of WORDS and SOUNDS. Because let me tell you this - ALL of us who learned English as a foreign language in school - we all learned to read it incorrectly. We have a broken perception of the sounds that each letter or a combination of letters stands for. And as long as we keep insisting on "A" being the same "A" that we have in our first language

An unplanned episode about inner state.
Why I quit coffee and how the body plays a more important part in our learning process than we think.

Why self-correction matters?
Example ⬆️
You need to ask only one question: “Have I heard a native speaker say so?”
P.S. this is also a good example of receiving mental images:
When you feel a lot but don’t have the language for your feelings and experiences, it’s hard. You feel blocked when you speak.
The exercise that helps here is to find native speakers who are going thru the same experiences and learn the words that go need from them.
Look at the images above again: they have the words that you didn’t have and you can SEE and FEEL these words deeply in your body.
You can remember multiple stories of how you experienced these words. You received the message and probably didn’t even pay attention to the words.
It means the words were precise.
Now, our job is to pay attention to these words- to HOW they said it, not only to WHAT they said.
