The key was to attend sessions, project meetings, and seminars to secure internal marks. This year, the system is autonomous, so attendance rules are stricter now.
Regarding placements, when I was there, only one company offered the highest package of 6 LPA, and that was for testing roles. Companies prefer candidates with Java skills. For projects, web development is recommended, as other domains are not given much support. Only about 12 companies visited, and many job offers were just links to other opportunities. For low-paying roles, internships were offered at 5K to 12K.
Out of 206 students, only about 30 got placed, and there were issues with the seriousness of rounds. For example, cybersecurity questions were asked in JD developer rounds. Even with 3-4 students reaching the final round, none were selected.
Overall, enjoy the experience, but be aware that only 2-3 faculty members are genuinely effective; the rest just read out PPTs. There is pressure and punishment for non-compliance, but no one stands by their word.
For placements, focus on projects and basic DSA before the third semester and work on your aptitude. Even average projects can help you land a job. Packages are typically 3-4 LPA, and some people with minimal knowledge still get placed. If you are serious, you will find a job in web development, as there’s a 5:1 ratio in favor of web development compared to other domains.
