Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has cut sod for the construction of a cassava starch factory in Dormaa. The Ghana Police Service has declared a 30-year-old suspect, Prince Krah, wanted in connection with the murder of two persons at Saki, near Tema Golf City, on May 1, 2026. Police say the suspect had been living in a chamber-and-hall apartment with the victims, identified as 45-year-old Ebenezer Kwabena Obiri and 22-year-old Mary Anim. The two were found dead in their room with multiple machete wounds. Investigators revealed that the male victim was last seen with the suspect on the night of April 30. A warrant for Krah’s arrest was issued by the Kpone Magistrate Court on May 4. The suspect, described as dark in complexion, about 5.7 feet tall, and of stout build, was last seen wearing a Lacoste shirt and jeans trousers. He is reportedly a military officer and is believed to be hiding within the Kakusunanka or Kamina Barracks in Tamale. Police have announced a reward of GH¢100,000 for credible information leading to his arrest. @officialghanaconnect

The Ministry of Health has expressed concern over a protest at the Weija Paediatric Hospital on May 5, 2026, amid delays in completing the facility. The Ministry said the World Bank-funded project, which began in 2023 and was due in December 2025, stalled after procurement irregularities, including inflated equipment costs, prompted the World Bank to withhold payments. It added that plans to commission the hospital were halted by the contractor pending resolution of outstanding issues, but assured that efforts are ongoing to operationalise the facility. @officialghanaconnect
