A Brigadier General in the Rafidi Army and his Aide Killed in a New Bombing in Kirkuk
Late last week, Islamic State fighters in the Iraq Province took down a high-ranking officer in the Rafidi army, along with his aide, and wounded others, in a new bombing targeting an enemy military operation southwest of Kirkuk.

Providing further details, a source told Al-Naba that Islamic State soldiers detonated an explosive device on Wednesday morning (3rd of Jumada al-Awwal) against a patrol of the apostate Rafidi army, which was conducting sweep operations in a village within the Zaghitun Valley, in the Rashad area.
The source added that the blast resulted in the death of an officer with the rank of Brigadier General, identified as "Ahat Yaris Hussein," along with his aide. Two other personnel were wounded, and the vehicle they were in—which was struck directly by the explosion—was destroyed. All praise is due to Allah.
In a statement, the Rafidi army acknowledged the deaths of the officer and his aide. The enemy’s statement noted that the officer held the position of "Commander of the Communications Command for the 11th Infantry Division."
The patrol had been attempting to reach a site previously targeted by an airstrike—a location within this well-known valley that has, over the past years, witnessed numerous failures by joint American and Rafidi forces.
The Rafidi forces frequently seek to reach such bombed-out sites, hoping to secure some semblance of an "achievement" under the cover of American aircrafts.

Nigerian Army Camp Commander and 6 Soldiers Killed in Complex Ambush by the Islamic State in the Country’s North
Nigeria – Yobe – Amaq Agency: Seven members of the Nigerian forces, including a senior officer, were killed in a complex ambush in Yobe State, in the north of the country.
Military sources told Amaq Agency that Islamic State fighters carried out a well-planned ambush the day before yesterday against a Nigerian Army patrol on the road between the towns of Kanma and Geidam, following prior surveillance.
The sources explained that the fighters detonated an explosive device as the patrol passed, subjected it to heavy gunfire, and pursued the soldiers in the surrounding area.
The sources confirmed that the ambush resulted in the death of the commander of the Kanma camp and at least six of his soldiers, while others were wounded and one of their vehicles was disabled.
The sources added that the fighters seized a second vehicle, two heavy machine guns, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and 13 rifles, before returning safely to their bases.
It is noteworthy that a "senior officer" and 15 soldiers were killed just a few days ago, amid an escalation in Islamic State attacks against Nigerian Army forces in the region.
