Neither of us really needed new clothes, but somehow we still ended up walking from one store to another, insisting we'd find something that suited the other better than ourselves. Every few minutes you'd disappear between the racks, only to come back holding another shirt or jacket with the brightest smile, asking for my opinion before disappearing again. "I swear this one has your name written all over it," you said, holding up a cream knit against me. "Just trust me." I laughed, shaking my head while handing you a denim jacket i'd secretly picked earlier. "Only if you try this one first. Fair deal?" By the end of the day, we walked out carrying shopping bags that were barely for ourselves. You bought the knit because i liked how it looked on you, and i ended up getting the jacket because you refused to leave the store without seeing me wear it. Looking at our bags, you giggled. "We were supposed to shop for ourselves." I nudged your shoulder. "Guess we're just really bad at that." Somehow, buying clothes for each other felt a lot more fun than buying anything for ourselves.

The plan was just to stay in, order food, and watch a movie together. You curled up on one side of the couch while i sat beside you, occasionally stealing popcorn from your bowl. Not even halfway through the movie, my head slowly leaned against the cushion, and without realizing it, i was already fighting to keep my eyes open. "You know you're losing the battle, right?" you laughed softly. "Just sleep. I'll wait for my boyfriend to recharge." "Five minutes... then wake me up," i mumbled, already sounding half asleep. When i opened my eyes again, the movie had ended. You were still beside me, scrolling through your phone with one hand while the other absentmindedly played with my sleeve. The second you noticed i was awake, you smiled. "See? That wasn't five minutes." I let out a quiet laugh, pulling you into a quick hug. "Sorry." You shook your head. "It's okay. You looked cute."

The beach was almost empty by the time we got there. Just the sound of the waves, the breeze, and you walking beside me with your sandals in one hand because you insisted the sand felt better barefoot. "You're gonna complain five minutes later," i teased. You looked at me, smiled, and shrugged. "Worth it." We ended up sitting on the sand longer than we planned, sharing a drink while talking about everything and nothing at the same time. There were quiet moments where neither of us said a word, but somehow it never felt awkward. You rested your head on my shoulder, watching the waves. "It's nice here," you mumbled. I glanced at you for a second before looking back at the ocean. "Yeah," i smiled. "But i think i'd still choose wherever you are."
