🚨 Critical Security Vulnerability in Telegram Desktop CVE-2026-107181 | Reported CVSS Score: 8.1 / 8.6 According to reports, a critical security vulnerability affected Telegram Desktop versions 7.2.8 and earlier. The vulnerability could potentially allow an attacker to steal a user's session files with a single click on a malicious link. Technical Details: According to the report, the attack combines an IPC command injection flaw with Telegram's legacy "interpret:" handler. Specially crafted links could potentially trick Telegram into executing unauthorized commands. This could create a risk of local files being sent to a chat controlled by an attacker. Potentially Targeted Files Include: - Telegram session data. - Encryption-related keys or other secret information. - Other sensitive local files. If the conditions described in the report are met, an attacker could potentially hijack an active Telegram session without going through the normal login process or OTP verification.
