​Here are the 3 core rules the UAT tests to trick students: ​1️⃣ Mean is Sensitive, Median is Resistant Adding an extreme outlier (like a giant salary or a zero score) dramatically shifts the Mean, but leaves the Median completely unchanged. 2️⃣ Uniform Changes Shift Everything If you add +5 to every single number in a set, the Mean, Median, and Mode all increase by exactly 5. ​IF YOU VOTED: MATHEMATICAL / CALCULATION ERRORS ​Making a arithmetic slip on a simple formula under time pressure is the #1 reason students lose points on the UAT Quantitative section. ​When you have 45 seconds per question, writing down long divisions leads to panicked calculation mistakes. ​💡 THE QUICK-FIX STRATEGY: THE "ESTIMATION & LAST DIGIT" RULE ​Never calculate full long numbers unless the options are extremely close! ​Example UAT Trap: Find the Mean of 148, 152, 160, and 164. ​❌ Slow/Risky Way: 148 + 152 + 160 + 164 = 624 \div 4 = 156 (Easy to make a addition slip under time pressure!). ✅ Fast/UAT Way (Deviation Method): Pick a target base like 150. ​148 is (-2) ​152 is (+2) ​160 is (+10) ​164 is (+14) Net deviation = -2 + 2 + 10 + 14 = +24. Divide deviation by 4: 24 \div 4 = +6. Add to base: 150 + 6 = 156. ​Zero massive division. Answer Question 1 ​Answer: C (100)​Quick Insight: Total required sum for 5 tests = 5 \times 82 = 410. Current sum = 70 + 75 + 80 + 85 = 310. Required 5th score = 410 - 310 = 100.  Question 2 ​Answer: B students truly understand the structural difference between resistance to extreme values (Median) vs. sensitivity to extreme values (Mean). Question 3 Answer: B (32) Step-by-Step Breakdown: ​Total sum of all 7 numbers: 7 times 14 = 98 ​Set up the rules: ​Middle number (4th number) = 12 ​Largest number = M ​Smallest number = M minus 20 (since range is 20) ​Maximize M: To make M as big as possible, keep all other numbers as small as possible. ​1st number = M - 20 ​2nd number = M - 19 ​3rd number = M - 18 ​4th number = 12 (Median) ​5th number = 13 ​6th number = 14 ​7th number = M (M - 20) + (M - 19) + (M - 18) + 12 + 13 + 14 + M = 983M - 18 = 983M = 116 =>M ~38.6 Check structural constraints: Testing integer bounds where x_3 < 12 requires M - 18 < 12 => M < 30.
