Acute limb ischemia* = sudden loss of blood flow to an arm or leg. It's a vascular emergency because tissue can die within hours. the *6 Ps: 1- Pain: Sudden, severe pain out of proportion to exam. Usually in the affected limb, often starts distally and moves up 2- Pallor: Skin looks pale, waxy, or mottled. Capillary refill is delayed 3- Pulselessness: No arterial pulses on Doppler. This is the key sign that separates it from other causes of pain 4- Paresthesia: Numbness, tingling, "pins and needles". Means nerves are getting ischemic 5- Paralysis: Weakness progressing to inability to move toes/fingers. Late and very concerning sign 6-Poikilothermia: Limb feels cold to touch compared to the other side.
