You speak English. But do you speak teaching?
Knowing English and knowing how to teach it are two different things.Terms like scaffolding, elicitation, rapport, monitoring, feedback, and differentiation are more than just teaching terminology. They represent the skills and techniques teachers use every day to support learners and create effective learning experiences. Cambridge CELTA helps teachers develop these skills through practical training, hands-on teaching experience, and constructive feedback from experienced tutors. Because effective teaching isn't just about what you know. It's about how you help others learn. 📱Telegram|📱Instagram|📱LinkedIn

CELTA in one word.
We asked our recent CELTA trainees to describe their experience in just one word and their answers say a lot about the journey.
CELTA can be challenging, intensive, and demanding, but it is also an opportunity to grow, reflect, and see teaching from a completely new perspective.
Here’s how our trainees described their CELTA experience after completing the course.
What one word would you use to describe CELTA?📱Telegram|📱Instagram|📱LinkedIn
What makes a great teacher?
Great teaching is about more than subject knowledge. It requires a combination of professional skills that work together to create meaningful learning experiences.
An effective teacher understands their learners, adapts to different classroom situations, communicates clearly, and continuously reflects on their practice.
Subject knowledge, classroom awareness, adaptability, communication, and reflection all play an essential role in shaping a great teacher.
Because great teaching isn't just about what you know - it's about how you use that knowledge to make a difference.

What changes when teachers begin to look at the classroom differently?
At the end of our September CELTA course, we invited our trainees to reflect on some of the practical teaching principles they had developed throughout the course.
We spoke about giving clearer instructions, reducing Teacher Talking Time, checking understanding effectively, teaching vocabulary with purpose, encouraging quieter learners, and making feedback more meaningful.
Their answers reflect an important part of CELTA: learning to make more informed, learner-focused decisions in the classroom.

Good teaching isn’t always about how a lesson looks from the outside.
A lesson can be quiet, well-planned, fully completed, and supported by great materials but the real measure is what happens with the learners.
Are they thinking? Are they engaging with the language? Are they making connections, asking questions, and leaving the lesson able to do something they couldn’t do before?Teaching is not simply about delivering a lesson. It’s about creating the conditions for learning to happen. Maybe good teaching is less about what we manage to cover and more about what our students actually take away from the lesson. 📱Telegram|📱Instagram|📱LinkedIn
