A sudden flash flood tore through northern Nepal this morning after a surge in the Bhote Koshi River near the Tibet border. At least 8 confirmed dead. Hundreds are still unaccounted for, including 384 travelers listed as missing pending verification. Villages in Rasuwa, Timure, and Syabrubesi were swept away, along with the Friendship Bridge. Significant damage has been reported to 8 in-operation and 5 under-construction hydroelectric power projects. Downstream districts remain on alert.
