SITREP: Pakistan–Afghanistan Border Escalation Background: Major terror attacks in Pakistan over the past month, including the Sept. 18 Kohat mosque bombing and Sept. 19 police HQ assault, both linked to TTP. Islamabad blames Kabul for sheltering the group. PAF conducted overnight airstrikes on Sept. 23–24 in Kandahar, Paktika (Gardez), and Khost. Ten targets hit, described as militant-linked drone sites. Unconfirmed reports suggest an Afghan Black Hawk and Super Tucano may have been hit on the ground in Gardez. Afghan Taliban forces opened fire on Pakistani border posts in Chaman. Pakistan claims it retaliated with artillery, forcing Taliban units to abandon positions. Kabul denies initiating.

Iranian customs data shows around 1,300 shipments of "dual use" components from China to Iran's defense ministry in the first half of 2026, including electronics that can be used in drones and missile guidance systems, according to The Wall Street Journal. U.S. intelligence has warned Spain, France and Italy that Russia may be preparing a drone operation against one of the three countries, potentially launching Gerbera drones from merchant ships in the Mediterranean. The drones, with a reported range of up to 600 km, could be used to disrupt airports, ports or other critical infrastructure and create political and economic pressure rather than cause large-scale destruction. The warning reportedly circulated among European governments after CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s August visit to Moscow. — El Mundo

Danish Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus says Russia's offensive will not move Denmark's or NATO's support for Ukraine a single centimetre. "Russia is under pressure and is not reaching its goals. That is also why they are going after those who support Ukraine. It just shows how pressured they really are"

Danish Chief of Defence Michael Hyldgaard on the recent incident between a Danish helicopter and a Russian warship: "I think Russia is pressed and stressed when it comes to crewing their ships and maintaining a sufficiently professional level. It was actually a bit disappointing"

Danish Chief of Defence Michael Hyldgaard says Russian threats against Denmark and its allies have increased. Denmark has brought forward army brigade investments, bought more fighter jets and is building up drone defence and long-range capabilities. "We are ready to defend the Kingdom and our NATO allies. We will fight and win with what we have"

Danish Defence Intelligence Service (FE) Chief Thomas Ahrenkiel: Russia is already conducting concrete planning targeting Danish defence companies. "We expect increased intensity, and that it will become more serious and cause more damage"
