BREAKING: The Houthis have seized control of Mayun Island and completed their control of the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a local Yemeni government official tells AFP

25 years after 9/11, the attacks still shape how America travels, fights wars, gathers intelligence, and sees the world. The U.S. is safer from another attack on that scale, but the costs and consequences of the post-9/11 era are still unfolding. https://faytuksnetwork.com/united-states/25-years-after-9-11-america-still-lives-in-the-world-the-attacks-remade/

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called President Trump twice on Thursday, urging U.S. strikes on Yemen’s Houthis as they advanced toward the Bab al-Mandab Strait, Axios reports. Trump declined, but Washington will provide Riyadh with intelligence and targeting data.

US President Donald Trump: Maybe I don't go full into Iran because of the election - Bloomberg

A China-based actor used Claude to gather OSINT data on advanced directed-energy weapons, including a vehicle-mounted high-power microwave system for countering drone swarms, and drafted restricted briefings for senior CCP and military leadership. Anthropic assessed the actor used state-grade tradecraft and banned the account.

A China-based actor used Claude to build a 16-module electronic warfare, jamming, deceiving opponent’s radar, and air defense suppression suite, iterating through 12 versions, with a simulation scenario set to 12 targets in Taiwan, including Patriot and Tien Kung batteries, major air bases, and command bunkers. According to Anthropic, the actor is a China-based defense and military-industrial researcher.

A Russia-based team used Claude to engineer an autonomous FPV kamikaze drone swarm, including an onboard small language model for attack and return-to-base behavior and terminal guidance software that could select targets and issue detonation commands without a human in the loop.

A Yemen-based guided weapons cell used Claude in place of human engineers to write guidance, navigation, and control software for a guided rocket, a multi-stage ballistic missile with a 2,000+ km range goal, and a hypersonic glide vehicle variant. The rocket was test fired and appears to have failed.

Anthropic says an Iran-nexus actor built an automated OSINT identity-profiling harness targeting Israeli and Jewish diaspora individuals. It also used Claude to compile targeting handbooks on U.S. naval positions including a roster of U.S. personnel scraped from public military photographs, ship and aircraft transponder IDs, and satellite-imagery query scripts.

Anthropic has just released its latest threat intelligence report, detailing how state-linked actors used its Claude AI models for surveillance, weapons development, and influence operations. A 🧵thread:

There was a gulf between the sobering private assessments Vance received and what top administration officials said publicly, while Trump privately raged about media stories detailing the diminished stockpiles, according to the NYT
Faytuks Network (@FaytuksNetwork) VP Vance directly called U.S. military commanders in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia over the spring and summer to seek their unvarnished assessments of the Iran war, according to current and former officials cited by The New York Times. Commanders told Vance that by late spring one theater had fewer than 100 Patriot interceptors, while ATACMS and PrSM were at their lowest levels ever.

Russia and China oppose UN snapback sanctions on Iran, with Russia's ambassador saying that Russia would not "allow sanctions on Tehran to be reimposed under any circumstances." China's deputy representative blamed U.S. policy, including Trump's 2018 withdrawal from the nuclear deal, as the "primary causes" of the situation.

Authorities arrested the suspected perpetrator of recent power line sabotage attacks in Germany, a 48-year-old man detained Tuesday, according to NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul. A notebook found in his motorhome listed over 160 past and potential sabotage targets, with Reul saying further attacks may have been prevented.

The U.S. has provided Saudi Arabia with a real-time battlefield targeting tool compared to the Pentagon's Maven system, plus "geospatial" targeting support for strikes against the Houthis. However, there is deep wariness inside the U.S. military of being too closely associated with a Saudi strike campaign, especially if civilian casualties occur, according to U.S. officials speaking to CNN.
Faytuks Network (@FaytuksNetwork) More than 100 U.S. military advisers are on the ground in Saudi Arabia providing intelligence and targeting support for the Kingdom's campaign against the Iran-backed Houthis, according to CNN. The personnel are operating under a newly-established joint forces command, though the U.S. is not participating directly in strikes or providing refueling support.
