we underestimate how long words stay with people. we think compliments are temporary , like small talk , like something that evaporates once the conversation ends. but people replay them , quietly , in ordinary moments. while brushing their teeth , while folding laundry , while sitting alone on public transport , sometimes a single sentence becomes a checkpoint. proof that someone noticed , proof that someone paused long enough to form a thought and care enough to speak it.

if you see something beautiful in someone , tell them. say it while it’s still warm in your chest. don’t wait for the right tone or the right occasion. don’t assume they already know. most people don’t. and even the ones who seem confident , who seem secure , who seem untouched by doubt , are still storing away sentences that made them feel seen. they might not show it. they might laugh it off. they might change the subject , but it lands. it always does.
