Agreements were made behind the scenes to ensure global energy markets weren't disastrously fucked with as a result of the war. Sure, Nordstream got sabotaged because Americs prefers Germany firmly under their thumb, but Russias energy got rerouted, leading to little change in the global energy balance. Unfortunately the Ukranians learned from Iran and are aiming to leverage a global energy shortage to increase buy in from their allies and (obviously) to weaken Russia... then lo and behold, suddenly America pulls the plug on Intel and Internet. And even though this hurts Ukraine, they went right back to hitting Russian oil installations. Consequences are finally accruing in this war
