Imagine being so terrified of sharing an opinion with another person that you train yourself to dislike things on principle.

A new movie comes out and millions of people enjoy it. “Ugh. Overrated.” and maybe someone really doesnt like it but theres a difference between geniue dislike and yearning to be different and special.

The funny part is that people who genuinely are unique dont usually spend all day announcing it. They just live their lives

the thing is if a movie is popular, they suddenly hate it. If nobody likes something, its suddenly their favorite thing. “Everyone listens to that artist? Ew.” "woooo lana del ray overrateeedd" and theyre like “I only listen to music recorded in a basement by a guy and his pet hamster.”

Some people spend so much time trying to be different that they forget to be themselves. i mean there is nothing wrong with being unique. In fact, every person is unique in their own way. The problem begins when being... "different" stops being natural and becomes like a performance.
