A person who only reaches out when they need something has no right to call themselves a friend, a lover, or a kindred spirit. Some people stay only as long as you are doing well, as long as you can do things for them, as long as your presence benefits them; but the moment you get tired, the moment you need someone, they slowly disappear, as if they never claimed they would stay. There was a time I would get upset, searching for reasons for their departure, thinking maybe it was my fault; but today I realize that some people's presence was never valuable, I had just gotten used to them, and when that habit faded, I saw that nothing was taken from me, and life did not stop. Some people don't leave your life to leave you alone; they leave to prove that they never had the value to stay in the first place.
