Plus not everything reza shah did was inherently evil he did give our country a name of our own choosing which from the very beginning was used for all of the citizens regardless of ethnicity or language and it did in fact cause a huge deal of solidarity

I get that with the historical context ultimately both of these words are okay to use but through all the passing years after the official naming of iran the word persian has obviously been recontextualized to refer to a certain group of Iranians who pride themselves heavily on an ethnicity that might not even be their actual one

the name persia was a western conception

and Iran was never called persia by its own people
