digital cameras are still 50/50, CMOS/CCD sensors are all silicon so the components interacting with light are still silver-free

actually, minor redaction to this: film uses silver compounds for exposure. tintypes used silver halide, which might interfere with the process, and even today films are based on silver halide. the difference now is that they have dyed color binders employed. this raises the question of black and white vs color photography. black and white may be totally ineffective because it's a simple silver halide solution on cellulose or other polymer film, but color film may have varying efficacy depending on whether or not the color dye layers interact and expose independently of the halide. so you could end up with a colored distortion where the vampire should be, because the colors are interacting with reflected light from the vampire, where the silver doesn't.

i am sorry to whoever finds out about cloud seeding through my spergout over hypothetical supernatural creatures

there's also the issue of cloud seeding: we put literal tons of silver compounds into the air for cloud seeding. this is not conspiracy, this is not a crackpot theory, this actually happens and is a matter of public record. how does that affect vampires? would that be a low grade irritant due to it being so low in concentration? what about the food supply, where the silver ultimately ends up? would vampires all be asthmatic and wracked with inflammatory disease because of widespread silver exposure in low levels, given their greatly enhanced lifespan? chelation would be ineffective as they have no pulse or functioning excretory/filter organs. i think being a vampire in 2026 would turbo suck

also, iirc the origin of the reflection bullshit was because mirrors were made of silver, which vampires tend to dislike/be killed by. this could be TOTALLY negated in the modern era by using purpose-built reflective surfaces made of (for example) aluminum. also, is there a volume percentage at which vampires reappear in a reflection on silver material? there must be. so you could theoretically also begin alloying silver and other materials to create a non-tarnishing mirror that would be proof positive immediately as to who is or is not a vampire

watched a video with a vampire in it and it triggered my tism realistically, the "lacking reflection" thing was only an issue for vampire documentation/detection for a short period of time. obviously it didn't matter before cameras, and even with early pinhole cameras/camera obscura, it still wouldn't be an issue, because there's no mirror involved. direct exposure pinhole cameras are also extremely easy to improvise. after that, you start getting into the more modern film cameras, where mirrors are involved and it gets fucked up again. but then it goes to digital, which is almost exactly a 50/50 split because not all digital cameras use mirrors: DSLRs are a no-go because they have a mirror going into the sensor, but solid state cameras that only use lenses and a static electronic sensor like phone cameras and really cheap digital cameras would be fine. so basically, professional photographers wouldn't be able to capture vampires on film or DSLR, but amateurs would be able to do so without even considering it because they have unintentionally specced into the perfect gear for it.

this is "boolet too big hole too small" squibomatic

I've seen a Jennings 9mm explode from +P lol. Pistols can get stupid

menace is very much an r9k, crystal cafe, depths of wattpad kind of internet foid. strange and sometimes contradictory takes but the potential to forge gemeralds from nothing

i would never in a million years refer to menace as based, she is very much a thot-tuber, but every once in a while she'll post something so great it's like "damn. why she gotta be a hoe". it's not even that uncommon
