Let me drop some important commands on Git git init - Create a new repository git status - Check status of file git add - Add changes to staging area git commit -m "message" save changes with message All these save changes in your repository

Committing is more like taking a snapshot of your changes saved in the repository I know you have been using git commit but that is what it actually mean

1. Working Directory A working directory is where you make changes in your files 2. Staging Area Staging area is a state where you add changes to be committed 3. Local repository This serve as a local storage where changes are saved as commit in Git
