ㅤㅤㅤ La Rambla to La Boqueria 🥥☕️ Day two in Barcelona started with a slow morning walk through La Rambla, before I wandered into Mercat de la Boqueria to look around at all the fresh fruits and little food stalls. Somewhere in the middle of the crowd, I bumped into my brother, Francis, who happened to be exploring the market too. We ended up walking around together, picking out fruits to try and deciding which ones were actually worth buying. Naturally, I took advantage of having my brother around and asked him to treat me to something. He agreed, so we went around looking for a little morning pick-me-up. Francis ended up getting himself a fresh young coconut, while I, being predictably me, chose coffee instead. We spent the rest of the morning strolling through the colorful streets, him with his coconut and me with my coffee, before continuing our Barcelona adventure with #TaxTakesSpain. ㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤ     ㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ DAY 02 IN SPAIN 🇪🇸 The second day came a little easier, as though we had already found our rhythm. We spent our time enjoying the warmth of the day, talking about everything and letting the hours pass without hurry. By sunset, another chapter of our time together had quietly found its place in our memories. #TaxTakesSpain ㅤ     ㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ🧺🫧🏖 after a morning surrounded by gaudí’s towering spires, we slowed the pace right down by 2:00 PM. we headed toward la barceloneta beach, where the salty breeze hits just right and the afternoon sun melts everything into a warm haze. there is nothing quite like sharing a massive pan of fresh, steaming paella right by the water, and letting time drift away without a single care. as 7:00 PM rises, afternoon breeze gave way to the magnetic pull of the city after dark. we took a slow, golden-hour stroll along passeig de gràcia, admiring the elegant storefronts and grand architecture before losing ourselves in labyrinth of the gothic quarter with the sole presence of britany! walk through those ancient alleys lit by soft streetlamps feels like stepping back through centuries. we eventually tucked into a cozy corner for tapas and endless glasses of fruit-infused sangria talking and laughing long into the night. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

#TaxTakesSpain got a little more fun once it was just the girls. We had the yacht, the music, a table full of drinks, and absolutely no reason to be anywhere else. Blaire, Serenoi, Naira, Britany, Ghost, Daniela, Mozza, Brigitta, Maisie, & Iris was dressed a bit hotter than usual, the lights were doing half the work for our pictures, and somehow every five minutes turned into another photo, video, or completely unserious conversation. There was no schedule to follow and no one checking the time so just enjoying the night as it came and surrounded by the right people, with nowhere we’d rather be. 🪩🍸🫧

Strolling along Passeig de Gràcia with With Serena, James, Moza, Daniela, Ali, Britany, Blaire, Jonah, Serenoi, Naira and Jose. We’re getting lost somewhere between the old stones of the Gothic Quarter, and ending the day exactly how Barcelona intended — sangria, a table full of tapas, and good company. 🇪🇸🍷 A little wandering, a little indulgence, and plenty of moments worth slowing down for. #TaxTakesSpain

ㅤ Somewhere in the middle of all that wandering, Olaf called. And apparently, it was finally our turn to have our little moment on the phone. One by one, Ali, Serenoi, Britany, Jose, Shaher, and Francis joined in, each taking their turn to call and catch up for a while. It was such a small thing in the middle of a day spent exploring a city so far away, but somehow hearing familiar voices made everything feel a little closer to home. Maybe that's the sweetest part of traveling—the little moments that remind you that even when you're wandering somewhere new, there are still people waiting to hear about it. 🤍

ㅤㅤㅤ SPAIN AFTER HOURS // After a full day of sightseeing, Zion decided we deserved a night out, and Rudolph and Francis were more than happy to agree. Brigitta and Britany got ready, Serenoi, Fairuz, and Blaire came along for drinks, and Siennamore, Daniela, Serena, and Devora completed the little midnight crew. We said we'd only stay out for a while. We obviously did not. One drink became another, a quick walk became a whole detour, and suddenly it was one of those nights none of us wanted to end first day of #TaxTakesSpain. ㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ𝘚𝘈𝘓𝘜𝘋𝘖𝘚, 𝘉𝘈𝘙𝘊𝘌𝘓𝘖𝘕𝘈! ㅤㅤ ㅤ05 / 09 / 26 / 🇪🇸 ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤBarcelona’s golden morning light, with our steps leading us through the timeless beauty of La Sagrada Família and the whimsical corners of Park Güell. By afternoon, we slowed things down by La Barceloneta, enjoying a proper plate of paella before taking in the sea and the easy warmth of the city. As evening arrived, we wandered along Passeig de Gràcia and into the winding streets of the Gothic Quarter, ending the day with glasses of sangria, plates of tapas, and a little taste of Barcelona after dark. Mary and I lingered over our sangria a little longer, sharing stories and laughter as the city lit up around us. #TaxTakesSpain ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
