New York City plans to house migrants in public school gyms has sparked fury and backlash from parents, who are understandably concerned for their children's safety. Unable to cope with the ongoing influx of migrants into the city, Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has nonetheless doubled down on opening up the city, telling New Yorkers that 'nothing is off the table as we work to fill our moral mandate' and that the crisis could be expected to 'affect every city service.' Except the ones used by Adams himself, presumably. The migrants, almost exclusively adult men, are to be housed in 20 school gyms in the city. No plans to perform background checks or health screenings have been revealed, nor has the city given a timeframe for the arrangement. Now Adams' plans face backlash from parents, with school attendance plummeting and home schooling on the rise as a result of the disastrous move. šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž

Donald Trump has made one of his most intriguing election pledges so far ā€“ should he make it back to the White House, every file relating to the JFK assassination will be made public. 'I released a lot, as you know. And I will release everything else,' said the former president during an interview on Monday. Currently, there are around 4300 JFK file records still hidden from public view. During his first term, Trump's reasoning for keeping these files withheld was that 'certain information should continue to be redacted because of identifiable national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs concerns.' It seems this will no longer be an issue should Trump return to office, and he has promised to release these hidden files 'very early' in his term. šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž

Philanthropist, financier and real-life supervillain Soros recently dumped all of his stock in Muskā€™s companies, provoking a backlash on Twitter. Obviously, merely criticizing Soros for all of the things heā€™s done wouldnā€™t quite prod the normies as much as necessary for a good spot of Twitter outrage, so the master of bait Musk decided to translate his annoyance into something a left-wing journalist with the mental age of seven could understand. ā€˜Soros reminds me of Magneto,ā€™ he said. Cue the meltdown. Brian Krassenstein, who was once banned from Twitter, jumped at the chance to prove that he understood the reference, but also to defend daddy Soros. You see, poor billionaire Sith Lord Soros is merely a ā€˜right-wing punching bagā€™ and that despite his attempts to destroy human civilization, he has ā€˜good intentions.ā€™ ā€˜You assume they are good intentions,ā€™ Musk replied. ā€˜They are not. He wants to erode the very fabric of civilization. Soros hates humanity.ā€™ We have nothing to add to that sentiment.

An academic from Florida has spent 74 days living underwater, setting a new record in the process. Joseph Dituri, who goes by the name 'Dr. Deep Sea', is aiming to extend his undersea stay to 100 days. He is living in an unpressurized divers' lodge off the Florida Keys, at the bottom of a nine-meter-deep (30 feet) lagoon. Dituri's daily routine includes the usual ā€“ eating, exercising, napping, but on no account opening the window to get some fresh air. The underwater sojourn is part of a mission dubbed Project Neptune, which incorporates medical and marine research, including monitoring how the human body responds to long-term exposure to extreme pressure. So far, however, he hasn't been able to confirm that it is better down where it's wetter, so that crab Sebastian might still be a liar. šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž

Want to know if your local priest has a criminal record? Easy ā€“ just scan him. That's the thinking behind a new rule in France which will see Catholic priests forced to wear 'traffic light' style ID cards, complete with QR codes. The public will be able to scan the code to see a green, orange or red light. A red light means the priest has been stripped of their status, orange means the priest has limited powers due to experience or sanctions, while green means the priest is squeaky clean and able to perform a full range of duties. One of the driving factors behind the new law is the desire to protect worshippers from sexual abuse, following recent revelations that several serving or former clergy in the country had been accused of abuse, or were involved in reported cover-ups. The move does raise concerns, however, that the technology could be expanded for public use, potentially meaning a step towards a 'social credit' style system. šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž

In the latest of only a few cases worldwide, a ā€˜three parent babyā€™ has been born in the UK. The birth was the result of a pioneering but controversial IVF procedure known as mitochondrial donation treatment (MDT), in which DNA from the motherā€™s egg is implanted into a donor egg. This means harmful genetic mutations carried by the mother could be bypassed, potentially avoiding the baby inheriting certain genetic conditions. Only a handful of babies have been born using this technique so far. The first was in Mexico in 2016, to a woman with a fatal nervous system disorder. While certain questions have been raised over the ethics of triple parentage, proponents are hailing the procedure as a breakthrough in preventing hereditary illnesses. šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž

Reason #812 why Nicolas Cage is better than you: he can remember being in his motherā€™s womb. You canā€™t remember being in his motherā€™s womb. You canā€™t even remember being in your own motherā€™s womb. Cage told Stephen Colbert ā€˜I know this sounds really far out and I donā€™t know if itā€™s real or not, but sometimes I think I can go all the way back to in-utero and feeling like I could see faces in the dark or something.ā€™ Weā€™re not sure who was in there with him, but it wasnā€™t you and thatā€™s why youā€™re a disappointment. šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž

ā€‹ā€‹In 2019, celebrity financier, friend of the stars and giganonce Jeffrey Epstein didnā€™t kill himself in a New York jail cell awaiting trial for sex trafficking children to no one in particular. In 2021, his long-time wife and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell was also convicted of sex trafficking children to no one in particular. Now, JP Morgan are facing the heat for being an accessory to sex trafficking children to no one in particular. The banking behemoth is being sued by the families of Epsteinā€™s victims on the grounds that the open secret of Epsteinā€™s sexual commerce renders them liable for bankrolling his actions. Now, a US District Judge has ruled that the bankā€™s head of asset management, friendship with and knowledge of Epsteinā€™s noncery would in turn grant the company as a whole knowledge, thus making them effectively an accomplice. JP Morgan had attempted to shift the blame to the asset management head, Jes Staley, by suing him personally for ā€˜intentional and outrageous conduct,ā€™ but no one was buying it, on the grounds that everyone on the planet knew what Epstein was up to. šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž

Flint Community Schools district in Michigan has announced a ban on all backpacks, even clear ones, in response to growing concerns about weapons being brought to school. A letter posted on the school districtā€™s website states that ā€˜Backpacks make it easier for students to hide weapons, which can be disassembled and harder to identify or hidden in pockets, inside books, or under other items.ā€™ Students will now only be able to store their belongings in clear plastic bags, which will be searched. The move comes as schools introduce ever stricter rules following last yearā€™s shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas, in which 21 people were killed. In most cases, clear backpacks are still allowed, but Flint has taken the rule one step further, arguing that this will help to ā€˜better control what is being brought into our buildings.ā€™ šŸŒWorld News ChannelšŸ—ž
