Victoria, BC, more old red brick. This building is said to house Victoria's first well that the British settlers built at Fort Victoria. However, it's right next to the ocean, hard to understand how they got fresh water digging so close to Salt water?! I guess that question is for the "experts".

Another old stone building in Victoria, BC, "Irish Times" (used to be Bank of Montreal) on Government St (used to be Emily Carr St). You would think it's all stone. But nope, it's red brick underneath!!

Back in Victoria, here we have the mysterious Carnegie library building, said to have been "erected" in 1904. Now the Carnegie libraries are a whole new can of worms on their own, but here's another example of an old red brick building that has been refaced with fake stone. The question again is, when was this building originally built, and when was the fake stone added?
Carnegie built thousands of these libraries in major cities, in many countries around the turn of last century. This effectively set the stage to control the narrative. Only approved books would end up in a Carnegie library.

Also just like Victoria, Vancouvers original ground level seems to be one floor below street level.

Aways red brick under the usually fake stone exterior. These buildings predate any red brick manufacturers in the area. Just like in Victoria BC, it begs the question, where did the red brick come from and when were these buildings really built, and by who?

Some of the oldest buildings in Vancouver. Almost all these buildings are made out of red brick, even the ones that look like cut stone on the outside.
