⋯ Lebanese Prime Minister Mikati: "Lebanon condemns the rocket fire toward Israel from its territory and stressed the Lebanese army & UNIFIL are trying in order to arrest the perpetrators.
Lebanon opposes any military escalation from its territory and opposes attacks from here."
⋯ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
"The internal debate in Israel will not prevent us from acting against [our enemies], in any place and whenever necessary. We will strike our enemies and they will pay a price for any act of aggression."
⋯ Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant “instructed the IDF to prepare all possible options of retaliation for the rocket attack from Lebanon and present them to the security cabinet tonight”.

Israel informed the UN and UNIFIL that it will respond.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid: “The opposition will give the government full backing for a harsh response by the IDF and the security forces.”
⋯ Earlier on 22 March, the Secretary-General of Hezbullah said:
“Any Zionist aggression, whether military or security, that targets any area in Lebanon or person, whether he is Lebanese, Palestinian, or of any other nationality, the resistance will certainly & swiftly retaliate.”
⋯ The Lebanese Minister of Interior spoke against the non-Lebanese factions in the south, and stressed on the need to limit peace/war powers to the government.
