Tripled up sickly Redditors getting horribly ill both because of the vaccine and their innately weaker immune systems raging at people with naturally strong immune systems who only ever experienced Covid as a mild cold got me thinking of a finding in Thornhill's Parasite Stress book: The two most metabolically expensive systems of the body are the brain and the immune system. In development there is a trade-off between which of these systems should receive more bioenergetic resources, and this varies depending on environmental signals of disease burden etc. You can imagine a spectrum of phenotypes created by this trade-off, at the extremes you would have people who have strong immune systems who have 'weaker' brains, and people who have less resources dedicated to their immune system and more to their brain. What came to mind to me was the stereotypical dichotomy of the 'dumb but healthy meathead' and the 'intelligent but sickly nerd' stereotypes, which, at least to a degree, maps onto vaccination status.
