The world's largest and 110-year-old male crocodile, Cassius, has passed away. This saltwater crocodile, known for his immense size and unique characteristics, was kept in Australia's Northern Territory since the 1980s.
After being captured, Cassius was relocated to Queensland, where he became famous for his attacks on livestock and vehicles of tourists. This remarkable crocodile measured nearly five meters in length and weighed around one ton, although precise information about his age was not available.
In 2011, Cassius was officially recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest crocodile.
The Marineland Melanesia crocodile conservation organization shared a heartfelt post on their social media platform, stating, "Cassius was our dear friend and a proud member of our family."
