We seemed to have lost our intestinal fortitude. Our guts. Our courage to do what is necessary to protect our society. We've got to close our borders. We can't afford them. MacGregor is one of the only people worth listening to about global conflict in my opinion. Listen to what he says he and tell me he doesn't make total sense. Why does the world continue to give ear to war mongers over wise men like him? "We don't want a war. We need to come to terms with reality. It's best to negotiate an end to this thing. Solve the problem. Military power is not the answer. They've already killed more than two thousand Arabs in Gaza. They already killed the 1500 Hamas fighters that found their way into Israel. So the people that perpetrated most of the atrocious crimes are dead. Citizens in Gaza paid a terrible price. Collective punishment doesn't work very well. Historically collective punishment breeds new enemies. The enemies don't vanish, they get worse. Hamas is not so much people as it is an idea. It is an idea made much more attractive by the brutality meted out to them in the aftermath of these attacks. It's easy to recruit people when their families are killed when their homes are destroyed. Getting the rest of the region involved is not a problem. If Gaza is subjected to the kind of punishment that Netanyahu wants to bring out, the Egyptians are going to have a tough time staying out of it. If they get involved in it, you're going to see everyone else pile on. We don't want it. We can't afford it. We are bankrupt. There has got to be another way..." Do you agree with his analysis? Over the past 10 months, strange coalitions have been built and dispersed, candidates have risen and fallen, and private animosities have burst into public view. While the D.C. legacy media press has proven itself incapable of explaining any of the above (see: its description for the “hard right coalition” of Reps. Matt Gaetz, Nancy Mace and Ken Buck), the squabbling has clarified just how cracked up the Republican Party truly is. The Grand Old Party (GOP) has long suffered from misalignment with its donor class and leadership holding completely different priorities from its voters and actually actual conservative members. The Pentagon announced late Saturday that it will send an aircraft carrier and air defense systems to defend U.S. military troops in response to a growing number of attacks on U.S. facilities, presumably by Iranian-backed groups as tensions mount amid the Israel-Hamas conflict. Additional U.S. military forces in the U.S. have also been placed in a higher state of readiness for a possible future deployment to the Middle East on short notice. In a major change, the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower and its strike group of a cruiser and destroyers is being redirected to the Middle East instead of to the eastern Mediterranean where it was supposed to join the USS Ford strike group as an additional deterrent for Iran and Hezbollah from broadening the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
