On June 14, 2013, Melinda Ann Maltese was found face-down in a pool of blood, having suffered dozens of stab wounds to her head and upper body, with a large amount of blood on the walls and windows of her office. Melinda was murdered by Rashaan Williams, because she was about to fire him for poor work performance.

On June 14, 2020, Haley Leigh Hutcheson was driving with some friends when she was hit by gunfire and killed. Authorities suspected that the shot had come from another vehicle in the area, and after a few days of investigation, it was determined that 21-year-old William Wilson was the shooter. Once he was identified, William claimed that Haley and her friends had been threatening him and shouting racial epithets, so he fired a few "warning shots" at the rear of their truck, accidentally striking 17-year-old Haley in the back of the head.

On June 13, 2016, Robert Hildebrand was killed by a homeless man. Jason Shontee was stealing items and keeping them in an unoccupied apartment. As a maintenance worker for the apartment complex, when Robert found out about Jason's stash, he "wouldn't let him back in unless he was escorted by law enforcement, which was the right thing to do," according to a prosecutor. In frustration, Jason shot Robert multiple times.
