Good evening dear students. Here are some information on final term exam. please prepare all the seminars+revisions material for the exam preparations. Exam will cover all the topics we covered in the first 10 weeks of the semester. Exam will consists of 3 parts. Part A: 30 marks MCQs, (20 marks theoretical, 10 Marks calculation based) Part B: 30 marks, 2 questions (15 marks for each). Problem solving Part C: 40 marks, 2 questions (20 marks of each). Problem solving Standard Formula sheet (same as available on intranet) along with PV/FV tables will be provided. Hi folks! I have received enough emails to understand your main concerns about the group project. Shortly I will communicate all the necessary details that would help you effectively accomplish the tasks. The most frequent question I have received so far is whether you can use the same company from FM. My answer is yes, however, you need to understand that it is a different module, i.e., this CW focuses mostly on valuation part. FM-based valuation is not even worth 20% of what is asked in SA. Dear students, This Email is for the level five students who are enrolled in Financial Management Module Dear students, Here are some important instructions for submitting your coursework 1. 31st March, 23:59 is the last date for submission of course work, any late submission will be marked as zero. Therefore, It is recommended to upload your work beforehand to avoid any agitation 2. Only one student on behalf of the group needs to submit the course work. 3. Write your company name, Team ID (i.e., FM001), and WIUT IDs for all the group members on the first sheet of the excel file. 4. It is very important to Name your files (excel/word) and folder using the team ID number (i.e., FM001.docx and FM001.xlsx, FM002.docx and FM002.xlsx, etc.) while uploading on the intranet 5. Your submission can be arranged as zip/archive folder consisting of subfolders and files, all named by using your team ID number (i.e., FM001.docx and FM001.xlsx, FM002.docx and FM002.xlsx, etc.) 6. You do not need to prepare PPTs of your work. 7. Viva (question-answer) session will be conducted during your seminar hours during the next teaching week (4th April to 8th April as per your timetable) with your own Lecturer. You are not allowed to attend the viva session with any other lecturer, as it may cause you to mark you as absent. 8. You could be asked questions from any part of the report (not limited to the part which you have done). 9. Bring your CFI certificates in printed form while attending question-answer sessions. 10. Students who have reported non-cooperation of their team members should send an email to the module leader along with the proof (screenshots of conversation over Email, social networking apps). The module leader will call on the related parties and will take appropriate action. 11. Students who will not attend the viva session, will be granted zero marks for the viva part. Securities Analysis Group Project ‼️ Dear students This email is intended to give you all the details and instructions of the group project, the final assessment component for the module 5ECON025C SA. Considering the majority's requests about team creation, I have decided let students create their own team using the following link: However, please, be informed about the following rules of the group project: 1. Each team will have exactly four [4] members. 2. No student can be a member of any two or more teams at a time. Should any student's ID appear in two or more teams, the module leader will remove that ID from all the teams, and will assign the student to any new randomly created team(s). 3. You may create teams of four members regardless of your groups, meaning, for example, any Finance student may wish to be with an Economics student. 4. If the above is followed by some, please, be informed that you will have the full responsibility to organize everything on your own without ML's intervention. 5. Once team is registered, no one will be allowed to swap their places, re-register the teams or revoke the team entirely. 6. The deadline for registration will be open until the very last second of this week. 7. If any student(s) fail(s) to register oneself(ves) using the above link until the deadline, the module leader himself will be creating the teams randomly for the remaining students. 8. Dear students This is to inform you about the rules of the in class test. 1. Every student must come to his/her own group as scheduled. No student will be allowed to join any other group, and even swap the places with another student from other groups. 2. If you are in a situation that does not allow you to come to your own group, please, submit an MC Claim. Upon the acceptance, this in class test will be deferred, meaning you will be sitting the in class test in summer with full mark grant based upon your performance. 3. You must bring the printed case with yourselves. Should you not bring any, the module team with provide the new case for you before the start of in class test. 4. Be reminded that this is an open book seen case in class test in its unique way. You are allowed to have any notes written with pen inside the cases. By saying any notes, you may write the formulae you need, theoretical summaries, or even pre-test calculations based on your expectations. However, you are not allowed to bring the notes in separate sheets of paper. 5. Any type of calculators (e.g., scientific, financial, programmable) are allowed. However, any other electronic devices must be put at the location indicated by the examiner. 6. You are allowed to have your ID card, your necessary stationary and the printed case with notes inside. No other belongings will be allowed to have on the desk. Remember, all our classes are delivered in PC labs, therefore, the space available for each student is limited. To better create the comfortable environment, you are highly recommended not to bring only what you need. 7. If you are asked to stand up and show the content of your pockets, you must obey us. Should there be any disrespectful acts from your side, you will be reported for both disciplinary and academic misconduct panel, which results zero mark for the assessment component, automatically. You will also be given a disciplinary point, which may not be a good asset for your official transcript and diploma you will be receiving upon your graduations. 8. The in class test will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. You will not be allowed to leave during the first 30 minutes, and the last 15 minutes. 9. Any attempts of cheating or academic misconduct of any kind will not be tolerated, hence, you will be reported accordingly. 10. Once the test is over, you are not allowed to keep any unauthorized exam materials. Everything that is provided by the examiner must be returned. Each exam script is marked with elements unknown to you, hence, it will be very easy for us to track which student from which group has violated this following rule. Good evening The deadline for CW is 31st March 23:45. I need to clarify some FAQs in your Emails 1) Will there be a viva or presentation of your course work. Ans: Group VIVA of your group will be conducted in the following week of the submission and time of viva for your group will be communicated by your respective teachers (mostly in the seminars hours) 2) what we can do if one of our fellow left university/unavailable/not responding. Ans: If fortunately/unfortunately one of your group fellow is absent/discontinued the studies, you will need to complete group task with the left behind group member and let your teacher know this issue at the time of viva. If some of your group fellow is not cooperating, attach the proof (screenshot of telegram/whatsapp conversation, Email thread as proof) and if proven, the particular student will be penalized, furthermore, if the complaint proven false, the action will be taken for misleading. 3) should the reference be provided in word.doc file Ans: no need to show references in the Doc file, put the references in separate excel sheet. 4) what are the total bonus marks and how we can get these Ans) 6 bonus marks will be granted towards CW marks, and these marks individual for completion of 3 certificates at Corporate Finance Institute website, namely i) accounting fundamentals, 2) reading financial statements, 3) excel fundamentals- for Finance 5) Can we select the company on our own? Dear students This is to inform you that next week, February 28th- March 4th, you will have open book seen case in class test during the seminar classes. Please, carefully read the details and instructions of upcoming test below. The seen case in class test will be held during the seminar times as per timetable for each group. YOU MUST COME TO YOUR OWN GROUP AS SCHEDULED. No student will be allowed to join any other session, or swap the places with other students from other groups. Failing to comply with this will cause zero mark for the assessment component. If you feel unwell on those dates, please, submit an MC claim with medical proof. Please, print the case study on Iridium LLC by yourselves, and bring them to the in class test. You are allowed to have your notes inside the printed case, which may include anything like formulae, pre-solved numbers, theoretical summaries, etc. However, please, note that no other papers will be allowed to have during the test. You must come only with printed case and necessary stationary like pen, ruler, and a calculator. We will allow all types of calculators for the in class test, including the scientific, financial and/or programmable. The duration of the test is 2 hours only. There will be five optional questions, with equal marks of 25, and you are required to attempt only four, which makes the total 100. You may attempt all five questions, however, the examiners will be checking only the first four attempted questions. Therefore, I would highly recommend to set a quick plan of which question to answer first or later from the beginning. Please, come to the class room at least 10 minutes before the class start time. Since, this is an in class test, you are not allowed to be late for more than 15 minutes. If anyone comes late for more than 15 minutes, that student will not be allowed to do the test, and he/she will automatically get zero for the assessment component. If you are late for known or unknown reasons or accidents, please, submit an MC claim.
