Data exchange is the cornerstone of our civilization. Almost everything we know has at some point been drawn, spoken, printed, transmitted through wires, radio waves, satellites, fiber optics, or relayed through base stations. American startup [radiogram.world](http://radiogram.world/) proposes to add another method to this list - and consequently, revolutionize global telecommunications. The startup promises to transmit only short text messages well beyond the limits of direct line of sight. As a result, a significant portion of information can be exchanged without the need for resources spent on voice and video communication, while preserving the essence of the transmitted information. The technical essence lies in the use of radio waves capable of bypassing obstacles, buildings, hills, and mountains through refraction, diffraction, and reflection off the Earth's ionosphere. The range reaches up to 125 miles and beyond through relay by other devices within the network worldwide. There is no need to install base stations, as it is highly likely that within the device's range, if not the recipient itself, then at least someone else slightly closer to the recipient, and so on in a relay fashion. Users of 2G-5G already use text in 82% of cases.

Repost from Varlamov News

In 2014, Mark Zuckerberg embarked on a strategic initiative to foster global Internet accessibility. The rationale behind this was twofold - expand its user base, and more importantly, democratize information access. To achieve this, Facebook invested in advanced technical solutions including drones, satellites, and lasers to provide internet connectivity in remote areas. Despite the potential, these solutions fell short of expectations due to various technical and regulatory challenges, leaving millions still digitally isolated. Fast-forward to today, and the challenge of universal internet connectivity remains. Here's where Radiogram.world envisions a paradigm shift. Instead of relying on complex and costly infrastructure, Radiogram.world aims to bridge the gap using text messaging, a service universally available even in areas with basic cellular coverage. The proposition is simple yet transformative - by enabling exchange of text messages to access information, Radiogram.world essentially bypasses the need for data-intensive Internet connectivity. This means people can stay informed, be it news, updates, or other information, without the need for a strong internet connection or high-end devices. Radiogram.world, in essence, democratizes access to information by reducing the barriers to entry. By empowering people with the tools to connect, share, and grow, Radiogram.world not only tackles the challenge of digital divide head-on but also offers an inclusive solution that could change the way we understand global connectivity. Facebook's mission sparked the journey, Radiogram.world carries the torch forward.

Combined data on cellular penetration (the share of cellular users in the country) and the UN Urbanization Index (the share of urban residents). There is a very strong relationship (correlation). Actually a conclusion: cellular communication is a city type of communication. Well, most of the territory (80%) is still without communication. Actually, this is what we do in radiogram.world
