That said, the battle for privacy is still ongoing. And one way or another the tech is on the side of cypherpunks and will be won, one way or another.
Re: The Hack
We also believe in justice for everyone.
The approximately 598 BTC the self-described white hats retained is far too large a self-appointed bounty.
Some may argue that recovering most of the funds is better than losing everything. But those funds belong to the affected users. Returning most does not create an entitlement to the rest.
In our view, an agreed bounty of 10 BTC would be a well-deserved reward for discovering and responsibly helping resolve the vulnerability.
All that said, we have no idea what they have talked about in private and things they have agreed upon. One thing for sure, a stolen property does belong to its rightful owner. Integrity is priceless.

The initial shielded ZEC → USDT swap succeeded; the funds became stuck when deposited for a subsequent swap.
REMEMBER !!!
Centralized swappers with strong KYC and AML policies are still uncomfortable with private money.
So the rule of thumb: If they can't trace funds back to the source they will be creating issues for you!
